A bursa, opened to show its thick wall and roughly granular internal surface.
History
This man presented at the age of 40 with recurrent swelling of the left knee following a
fall onto the knee six weeks before. Examination showed a fluctuant swelling in front of the left
patella. This was excised and found to contain some loose bodies.
